Early childhood caries in a preschool population. Study of the sociodemographic profile of nutritional habits

Abstract

Early childhood caries is one of the most preva­lent diseases affecting pre-school children worldwide. It is a com­mon, multifactorial, chronic and complex disease that affects the dental structures, and which has detrimental effects on the health and quality of life of the child. It is a serious public health problem in both industrialized and developing countries, and it is probably increasing ,is a result of factors that we are still unaware of.
